Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, RHCP to Perform at Olympics Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony for the Paris Summer Olympics is happening on Sunday, with performances from Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers confirmed.According to a report from Variety, all three California natives will be seen from Los Angeles in a mix of pre-taped and live performances. H.E.R. will also sing the U.S. national anthem as part of the closing ceremony. Producer Ben Winston is coordinating the closing ceremony with French producers—he previously produced the Grammy Awards and the ‘Adele: One Night Only’ performance on CBS in 2021.

Snoop Dogg revealed H.E.R. as the singer in a broadcast, stating, “Can I announce who’s gonna be? Well, I’m a fan of H.E.R., and I would love for H.E.R. to perform the national anthem.” H.E.R. will join French bands Phoenix and Air at the closing ceremony at Stade de France.Tom Cruise will kick off the handover from Paris to Los Angeles with a series of skydiving stunts. Cruise will jump on his motorcycle for some death-defying feats in France, before a pre-recorded bit that will see him parachute down into the Hollywood sign in LA.

Team USA flag bearers Katie Ledecky and Nick Mead will also participate in the ceremony. At the end of the closing ceremony, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will accept the Olympic Torch and bring it home while returning from Paris. Los Angeles now has around three years and 11 months to prepare for the next Olympics.

The closing ceremony will run from 9 pm to 11:15 pm in Paris (3 pm ET/ 12 pm PT) and will be presented live on NBC and Peacock in the prime time beginning at 7 pm ET/PT. The Los Angeles Summer Olympics are scheduled to rune from July 14 to July 30 in 2028. Variety has withheld the location of those live performances due to rising security concerns after a Taylor Swift concert was canceled in Austria due to a terrorist threat.
