Bills reveal ‘exciting’ part of Panthers blowout win

The Buffalo Bills stopped their two-game skid with a disjointed 40-9 win over the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium to move to 5-3 on the year.

After a wobbly first half that saw the Bills lead 19-3, in the second half, Joe Brady’s offense and the defense clicked through the gears, scoring 21 points in the third quarter, to put the Panthers away.

Josh Allen threw for 163 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for another two, while James Cook rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns to again be the shining light on offense, as the Bills put that two-game losing streak to bed.

But in what might be a scary thought for the rest of the NFL, Allen says there’s more to come from the Bills’ offense.

ā€œThe way that we won, for sure,ā€ Allen said. ā€œI think the exciting part is that there’s a lot to clean up, to improve on, to be excited about where this team really can go.ā€

Bills finally back on winner’s listIn truth, it didn’t really matter how the Bills won, as long as they did, and the 40-9 win now puts some of the uneasiness in the rearview mirror.

But as Allen stated, there is plenty to work on with the MVP not at his best despite the 40-9 scoreline.

Cook was superb, so too Shakir, but there is still a lot that Brady will want to get betterĀ at. It is far more enjoyable to make corrections after a win than after a loss, and the Bills will look forward to improving on a 31-point win.

Granted, the win won’t move the needle either way in terms of how Buffalo is viewed, but it took care of business and will now move on to focus on the small matter of the Kansas City Chiefs next week.
