Edward Waters University 14, Miles College 13

There was no shortage of offense as Edwards Waters snuck past Miles College in 12 innings on Thursday.

Miles College seemed to be in full control, leading 11-2 after the top of the sixth inning, but Edward Waters didn’t let the mammoth lead faze it. The Tigers chipped away at the lead with a two-run RBI before Caden Hutchinson hit a three-run home run to make it a much more manageable 11-7 in the bottom of the sixth.

Miles College added a run in the eighth to make it 12-7 heading into the final two innings, but Edward Waters delivered a six-run bottom of the eighth to take the lead. Miles College managed to get a run across in the top of the ninth to keep its hopes alive.

After both teams went scoreless through the 10th and 11th innings, Daquarius Thompkins walked it off for the Tigers on an RBI single.
