The captain of the Black Princesses, Afi Amenyeku, has shared a heartwarming moment by presenting her gold medal to her father.

Afi led Ghana’s U-20 female team in a remarkable victory against Nigeria, securing the top spot in the 13th African Games.

In a thrilling match held at the Cape Coast Stadium, Nigeria took the lead with a goal exploiting Afi’s initial error, ending the first half in their favour.

However, Tracy Twum’s goal in the second half levelled the score, culminating in a 1-1 tie after 90 minutes of intense play.

The decisive moment came when Mukarama Abdulai secured the winning goal, leading the Black Princesses to claim the coveted gold medal.

Sharing her joy on social media, Afi expressed profound happiness as she witnessed her father, the proud owner of the name “AMENYEKU,” savouring the triumph with the gold medal in hand.

She expressed gratitude, stating, “One of the happiest men on earth right now. The owner of AMENYEKU has a feel of the GOLD MEDAL. Will forever cherish this day. ALHAMDULILLAH.”

Despite formidable opposition, the Black Princesses emerged undefeated throughout the tournament, cementing their status as champions.
