Ghana’s Black Satellites are on the cusp of securing a spot at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after advancing to the semi-finals of the WAFU B Championship in Togo.
With their sights set on the prestigious competition, the team is just one win away from booking their ticket.
The top two teams in the tournament will automatically qualify for the 2025 U-20 AFCON, and Ghana is looking strong after securing a semi-final spot with a 1-1 draw against host nation Togo.
The Black Satellites have had an impressive run so far, kicking off their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Benin, where they salvaged a point through a late penalty.
They then followed up with a solid 2-0 win over Niger before their draw with Togo. Ghana will now face the runner-up of Group A, which could either be Nigeria or Ivory Coast, in the semi-finals.
This is a significant moment for the team, as they look to make a strong comeback after missing out on the tournament two years ago.
Ghana last featured at the U-20 AFCON in 2021 in Mauritania, where they lifted the trophy.
With their current momentum, the Black Satellites are poised to make a deep run in the tournament and secure their spot at the 2025 U-20 AFCON.
