Boasting Bigger Net Worth Than Scottie Scheffler & Rory McIlroy, PGA Tour Pro Achieves ‘Major’ Dream at Last
The 2024 RSM Classic final leaderboard was topped by Maverick McNealy, who claimed his first PGA Tour victory at Sea Island Golf Resort on St. Simons Island, Georgia. McNealy secured the win in the eighth and final event of the FedEx Cup Fall, sinking a six-foot birdie on the final hole to break a four-way tie and finish at 16-under 266. The tournament featured two courses, with the first two rounds played on a mix of a par-70 and par-72 layout, and the weekend rounds on the par-70 course.
Now, his victory came with a lot of perks: 39 OWGR points, 500 points for the FedEx Cup Fall, and, of course, $1,368,000. But what was the most exciting for him was getting an invite for the 2025 Masters through his win. Well, we know how significant a feat of achievement it is for all the PGA Tour Pros! Practically the one true goal each one of them have after earning their pro card. This took him over the top. However, he was not really ready for the mail, and it arrived at the most unexpected time.
At the post-round presser of the 2025 Sentry on Friday, The 26-year-old Californian who is set to inherit an extraordinary $950 million fortune from his father, businessman Scott McNealy, was asked if he was still excited about the invite. His family fortune makes his net worth bigger than that of World No. 1 Golfer Scottie Scheffler and beats that of Rory McIlroy too! He replied, “Yeah, it was awesome.” Generally, the invites for Augusta National come through the mail, which is a big deal for the pros. However, he was not the one waiting for it, and well, he was pretty much doing his usual chores when the mail arrived. “No, I was in the backyard covering up the outdoor furniture, and Maya just said, ‘Hey Mav, you’ve got some mail, I think you’re going to want to open this’. It was from Augusta National. And I said, ‘Yeah, that one’s pretty cool’. It sunk in that I was going to play the Masters when I opened that up. That was fun,” he said.

Maverick McNealy had an average 2024 season, but what made it special was his first-ever win on the PGA Tour, who knows, he might begin the 2025 season with a bang!
Maverick McNealy is in the top 3 of the 2025 Sentry Leaderboard The first signature event of the 2025 season has kicked off, and it seems to be going pretty well for Maverick McNealy. After two rounds, he is currently tied for the third position, with Corey Conners, Tom Hoge, and Thomas Detry. They are only two strokes away from Hideki Matsuyama, who is in the lead with a 16-under. McNealy seems to only be climbing up with each round, and who knows, he might actually finish it on the top.
Maverick McNealy did not have a great start to the event, with only two birdies on the front nine. However, he made up for it in the back nine, with four birdies. Had it not been for the bogey on the fifteenth hole, he would have been one stroke less short. After an impressive opening round of 5-under, he went completely bogey-free on Friday at Maui. This time he carded nine birdies! This brought his score to a whopping 9-under on the second day. If he continues increasing this momentum, he will finally bag the second PGA Tour victory of his career, and that too at The Sentry, and it will be a huge milestone for him. Do you think McNealy will be able to achieve the goal? Stay tuned to find out!
