Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre are considered two of the greatest quarterbacks in Green Bay Packers history, but Jordan Love has already separated himself from the two by accomplishing something neither of the two did during their first seasons as full-time starters.
After entering the 2023 campaign with many doubters, Love led the Packers into the playoffs in his first full season as the team’s starting quarterback.
Favre was one of those doubters, but he told TMZ Sports that he has been impressed with what Love has been able to accomplish this year.
“All I can say is wow,” Favre said.
“Right now, he’s playing as good as any quarterback in the league,” he added.
The Packers finished the regular season with a 9-8 record and clinched a playoff berth with a 17-9 win over the Chicago Bears in their Week 18 finale.
Love was exceptional down the stretch. He completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns against 11 interceptions in 17 games, in addition to rushing for 247 yards and four scores.
Love and the Packers are now gearing up for a wild card matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, and Favre had some simple advice for Love.
“You can only play in your first playoff game one time,” Favre said. “Enjoy the moment.”
The Packers will travel to face the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Sunday.
