Broncos make another trade, acquire John Franklin-Myers
While the Denver Broncos are putting together a solid 2024 NFL Draft class, the team has not stopped looking at other ways to improve to the roster. That has led to the second trade with the New York Jets in less than a week.Â
During the fifth round of the draft, the Broncos landed John Franklin-Myers from Gang Green.Â
Another Jets-Broncos trade: Jets are sending DE John Franklin-Myers, who has started 50 games the past three seasons, to the Broncos in an exchange for a 2026 6th-round pick, per sources.

â Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 27, 2024Myers was a fourth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 2018 out of Stephen F. Austin. He was waived ahead of the 2019 season and signed by the Jets where he has started in every game for the team in each of the past three seasons.Â
He has 19.5 career sacks.Â
Adding to the defensive line was something the Broncos needed to accomplish in this draft. They used a third-round pick on Jonah Elliss out of Utah, but he is more of an EDGE rusher from the outside linebacker spot. Franklin-Myers can create pressure from the defensive end spot and the Broncos needed another guy who fit that role.Â

â Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) April 27, 2024Perhaps seeing options starting to dwindle in the draft, the Broncos made this move. In exchange for the 27-year-old Franklin-Myers, the Broncos sent the Jets a sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft.Â
