The Indiana Fever made the playoffs for the first time since 2016, and star rookie Caitlin Clark said the team is confident in its chances to make some noise regardless of its opponent.

“Everybody is definitely excited for the playoffs,” Clark said following Indiana’s 110-109 win over the Dallas Wings on Sunday, per ESPN’s Michael Voepel. “We’re not just happy to be there. We really feel like we can compete with every single team.”

Sunday’s win improved the Fever’s record to 20-19 and secured the No. 6 seed in the playoffs. Clark scored a career-high 35 points and broke the WNBA single-season rookie scoring record that was set by Seimone Augustus in 2006.

Indiana appears to be clicking at the right time, as Sunday’s game marked the ninth time that Clark and Kelsey Mitchell (30 points) both had at least 20 points. The Fever are 7-2 in those games.

Indiana holds a win against every team except the defending champion Las Vegas Aces this season, so Clark and her teammates have a right to be confident as the postseason approaches.

The Fever will face the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs after closing out the regular season on Thursday against the Washington Mystics.
