It’s clear Caitlin Clark has a promising future in the WNBA, but it wasn’t her night on Sunday as the Indiana Fever fell to the New York Liberty 104-68.

The former Iowa star and No. 1 overall pick had just three points in the loss—her lowest scoring total through 11 games this season. The rookie just couldn’t find the bottom of the net in the loss, going 1-of-10 from the field and 1-of-7 from deep.

Clark exited in the fourth quarter with an ear injury. Aliyah Boston (ankle) also left the game with an injury.

Fever coach Christie Sides did not have an update on either player after the game:

After the game, fans expressed their disappointment with the poor outing from Clark against a star-studded Liberty roster.

Bishop O.T. Mccray Jr. @BishopMac77#caitlinclark got shut DOWN tonight! What a defensive performance by the @nyliberty. Held Clark to 3pts, 2-17 from the field, 2 rebounds, 5 assists. Very IMPRESSIVE game plan by the @nyliberty.

Chris Hassel @Hassel_ChrisI really did not think it would be this much of a struggle for Clark and Fever. She’s still doing incredible things but I envisioned a smoother transition than this. The schedule has not helped…finally some time off this week will help everyone on the team. https://t.co/g6nHG9vGK7

FeverFollower @FeverFollowerWatching the @IndianaFever has been painful tonight. They look tired. They have no team chemistry or plan. Too much standing around. Too many missed shots including Caitlin Clark. Hoping the 5 day break is the remedy.

Lamont @Coach_Evans25Worst game of the season for Caitlin Clark.

While Sunday’s game was one to forget for Clark, she’s still off to a solid start this year, averaging 16.9 points, 6.5 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game. Earlier this week she notched a career-high 30 points against the Los Angeles Sparks.

With the loss, the Fever dropped to 2-9 on the year but will now get a five-day break from games before playing in another game.
