Candace Parker Coaching Kobe Bryant’s Daughter Bianka Is the Sweetest Thing You’ll See Today
Sorry, something in my eye. Definitely not crying because retired WNBA star Candace Parker is personally coaching the late Kobe Bryantās daughter Bianka in the finer points of basketball.
Parker, a WNBA legend who played the bulk of her career with the Los Angeles Sparks (the WNBA counterpart to Bryantās team the Lakers), posted the sweet moment on Instagram, sharing glimpses of what sheās been up to since retiring from professional sports.
Parker included clips of her daughter Laila dominating a volleyball game and of her wife Anna Petrakova holding a bottle for their newborn son Summitt while Parker holds a glass for Petrakova. Teamwork!
āRetired but I still stay in the GYM! Genes are wild! The next are ready to take center stage and Iām excited to be there on the sidelines cheering them onā¼ļøā¼ļøš„š„š„š„š„š„š„š„ššššš Legacy Legacy Legacy Legacy!ā Parker captioned the post, which included a picture of seven-year-old Bianka Bella Bryant practicing her free throw form while Parker stands under the basket, ready to offer pointers.

āLook at the wrist loaded under the ballā¦.on her toesā¦Basketball in her blood! #MiniMamba Aunty Candace is so proud of you BBā the hoops star wrote on Instagram Stories.
Itās an especially touching moment given how passionate Bianka’s late father was about the WNBA. A dad to four daughters, Kobe recognized that his legacy would live on in the womenās league.
āWe in the WNBA feel like Kobe was the person that uplifted our league,ā Parker told TNT in February. Bryantās daughter Gianna was especially passionate about basketball, but sadly died alongside her father before her dream of playing professionally could come true.
That year, she, along with her teammates Alyssa Altobelli and Payton Chester, who also died in the crash, were selected as honorary WNBA draftees.
All of this to say, seeing Candace Parker and Bianka Bryant on the courtā¦itās cool if you need to cry for a sec.
