Caravan SandWitch Review – A Cozy Yet Mysterious Adventure

Not all games are designed to test your skills, others aim to impress players with their story, and Caravan Sandwitch is one of them. In this review, therefore, we will try to shed light on the positive and negative aspects of this small production, so that we can give you a general idea of the game.

As usual, we will try to keep spoilers to a minimum, so as not to ruin the surprise. So, do not be afraid of encountering too precise information regarding the plot of the game.

A Distress Signal
The game opens with a cutscene in which we are introduced to its incipit. The protagonist of the game receives a distress signal from the ship used years before by his missing sister. Our task, therefore, is to go to our home planet to find information about it. And it is here that our character’s adventure will begin.

During it, we will have the opportunity to meet different characters, each of whom will be essential to achieve our goal. In addition, we will also have the opportunity to explore different areas of our home planet which, due to past events, is certainly not in its prime. We will not say anything else regarding the plot, as it is the focal point of the game, so it is up to you to discover it as you progress with the adventure.

Exploration is the Key
Caravan Sandwich is an immersive adventure game that stands out for its extensive exploration of the various game areas, which is essential to progressing through the adventure and immersing yourself in its atmosphere. Exploration is not just a secondary aspect, but represents the heart of the entire gaming experience. Each area visited offers new discoveries, hidden secrets and essential objects that allow us to advance in the main story. The game map is divided into different areas, each with its own unique visual style.

In addition to following the main storyline, in Caravan Sandwich we can dedicate ourselves to a series of secondary tasks that enrich the overall experience. These tasks not only add depth to the game universe, but often offer unique rewards, such as resources useful for progressing in the game. However, you should know that some of these tasks are timed, which adds a dose of tension and requires careful planning: they must be completed within the current chapter, otherwise you risk losing them.

The gameplay of Caravan Sandwich is designed to be simple and intuitive, making it accessible to players of all levels. The ease of control and user-friendly interface allow you to focus on exploration and solving environmental puzzles, without unnecessary distractions. These puzzles are never too complex, but still require a pinch of ingenuity to be solved. Usually, we find ourselves having to manipulate elements of the environment to open secret passages or activate mechanisms that allow us to proceed.

Good Game Design
The artistic direction of Caravan Sandwich is excellent and represents one of the main strengths of the game. The cartoonish graphic style is perfectly suited to the light and adventurous atmosphere that the title wants to convey. Every detail seems to have been carefully taken care of, making the visual experience pleasant and coherent from start to finish.

The sound department also plays a fundamental role in player involvement. The soundtrack, while not being invasive, perfectly accompanies the moments of exploration and action, adapting well to the different scenarios. The ambient sounds contribute to creating an immersive atmosphere, making the player feel an integral part of the world of Caravan Sandwich.

From a technical point of view, the game does not present any obvious problems. Performance is stable, without frame rate drops or glitches that can ruin the experience. Loading between the various areas is also quick and fluid, helping to maintain the pace of the adventure without annoying interruptions.

Caravan SandWitch Review – 7/10
Game was reviewed on PC

In conclusion, Caravan Sandwich has some great ideas regarding the plot, which manages to entertain and keep the player involved. However, at times it can be a bit obvious or inconclusive, leaving the feeling that some parts of the story could have been developed with greater depth.

The cartoon style, on the other hand, is one of the game’s strong points, making the visual experience captivating and suitable for the light atmosphere of the title. However, the lack of spoken dialogues could represent a negative aspect for some players, especially those who prefer a more direct narrative involvement.

In terms of duration, Caravan Sandwich aligns well with the standards of games of the same genre, offering an adequate amount of hours of gameplay. The exploration of the areas adds value and stimulates curiosity, even if these could have contained more elements or secrets to discover. Ultimately, despite some flaws, Caravan Sandwich offers a pleasant and fun experience, ideal for those looking for a light but engaging adventure.
