Picture it: the curtain goes up at the Winter Garden Theater. A spotlight illuminates one lonely juvenile as he sings an âI Wantâ song about inventing the alarm clock. âBut who will have time for me?â he belts. A musical based on HBOâs completely normal show, The Gilded Age? Itâs closer than you think. Or at least Carrie Coon wants it. âIf anybody listened to me, thereâd be a musical of The Gilded Age on the Broad Way,â she told Andy Cohen on WWHL Wednesday night. âAnd we would make a mint!â The show features so many Broadway luminaries â including Christine Baranski, Kelli OâHara, Nathan Lane. But what about her and on-screen hubby Morgan Spector? âNow Morgan would probably acquit himself fine, but I would have to be recast, because I canât walk and sing at the same time,â she said. âBut maybe theyâd just carry me around. I donât know, I think we could make a lot of money.â Sheâs just saying what weâre all thinking.
