Celine Dion reportedly returning for new Las Vegas residency 1 year after canceling tour over stiff person syndrome

Celine Dion is in the ā€œfinal stagesā€ of settling the details for a comeback Las Vegas residency, TMZ reported Wednesday.

According to the outlet, multiple sources claimed the singer ā€” who has lived with stiff person syndrome for years ā€” has been negotiating for months with Resorts World to kick off a residency in late 2024 or early 2025. It is not expected to be a long-running show.

Dion, 56, announced her stiff person diagnosis in December 2022, which resulted in an indefinite hiatus from performing.

ā€œIā€™ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and itā€™s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that Iā€™ve been going through,ā€ she told fans in an emotional social media video at the time.

The reported comeback comes seven months after the ā€œMy Heart Will Go Onā€ hitmakerā€™s sister Claudette Dion said she ā€œlost control of her muscles.ā€

Dion documented her journey with the difficult diagnosis in her ā€œI Am: Celine Dionā€ documentary, which debuted in June. During one vulnerable part of the project, she suffered an agonizing seizure for several minutes.
