Chargers Final Week 9 Injury Report: What is Joey Bosa’s game status?
The Los Angeles Chargers face a road test against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday in a game that will be much tougher than it looks on paper. The Chargers may have to find a way to win without some key defensive players.Â
Joey Bosa was able to return to the field in Week 8 after missing nearly a month with a hip injury, but he was on a pitch count and didn’t have much of an effect on the game. Luckily, he didn’t need to. The Chargers handled the New Orleans Saints pretty easily in their 26-8 victory.Â
Bosa is officially listed as questionable heading into this game, and it’s likely that he will again see limited snaps if he can play.Â
When looking at the team’s final injury report, it still contains names like Kristian Fulton (Out), Brenden Rice (Doubtful), Stone Smartt (Doubtful), Denzel Perryman (Questionable) and D.J. Chark (Questionable).
#Chargers will be getting some pass-catcher reinforcements this week with Quentin Johnston, Derius Davis and Hayden Hurst all coming off the injury report.
— Daniel Popper (@danielrpopper) November 1, 2024But the team will also be getting back some much-needed help in the passing game as wide receivers Quentin Johnston and Derius Davis and tight end Hayden Hurst will return to the lineup. That will only help Justin Herbert, who has thrown for 628 yards in his last two games.Â
Cleveland Browns Week 9 injury reportFor the Browns, linebackers Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Jordan Hicks have been ruled out for this game. Star cornerback Denzel Ward and outside linebacker Khaleke Hudson are listed as questionable.Â
Owusu-Koramoah is one of the Browns’ best all-around defensive players. Ward is trying to clear concussion protocol in order to be available, but if he can’t, this is a defense the Chargers could really take advantage of.Â
For the Chargers, this week should be more about the players they are getting back and not the players they could be missing. If Herbert can keep up the level of play we have seen from him recently and incorporate a guy like Johnston, the offense could turn some heads this Sunday.Â
