Chelsea contact £80m Premier League attacker’s agent regarding summer move
Chelsea may have added Liam Delap to their squad last week, but the Blues are on the hunt for more attacking talent to add to their team ahead of the Club World Cup and the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Enzo Maresca’s team has been heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens and AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
But that’s not all, Chelsea are also rumoured to be interested in signing Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.
The club have been long-standing admirers of the English international and could make a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Villa value Rogers at around £80m.
According to the same Substack post, the Blues have already made contact with the attacking midfielder’s agents over a potential deal, doing so over the weekend. Considering that, it does not look like Villa’s price tag has scared them off yet.

The Villans value Rogers highly after a very impressive 2024/25 campaign. In total, the Englishman scored 14 goals and provided 13 assists in 54 appearances.
Why Aston Villa could be forced to sell Morgan RogersGiven Rogers’ contributions last season, Villa would understandably be reluctant to sell him in the ongoing summer transfer window.
However, they could be forced to do so due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules (PSR).
Phillips has also claimed that it is likely that Rogers would be open to a move away from Villa Park, giving Chelsea even more hope of a transfer.
