Chelsea transfer chiefs split over potential move for Arsenal star

Chelsea reportedly have an interest in Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale but there’s some split in opinion on him among the decision-makers at Stamford Bridge, according to Simon Phillips.
Ramsdale looked a strong performer while he was first choice for the Gunners, but he somewhat surprisingly lost his place to David Raya in the season just gone, meaning his future now surely lies elsewhere.
The England international will surely want to get back to starting games regularly in order to ensure he stays in Gareth Southgate’s plans, and it could be that he’d have better luck with a move to Chelsea.
Phillips reports that the Blues are in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer, and Ramsdale is one of a number of names who could be worth watching in the weeks and months ahead.
However, given that perhaps not everyone at CFC is that sold on the 26-year-old, perhaps it’s not a particularly realistic prospect, so it will be interesting to see if any other clubs get involved in the race for his signature.
Ramsdale transfer: What has Fabrizio Romano said about the Arsenal goalkeeper’s future?Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been linked with ChelseaDiscussing Ramsdale in his Daily Briefing column earlier this week, Fabrizio Romano had this to say: “There are also some player exits to clarify at Arsenal this summer, with the goalkeeper situation one to watch as they want to find a solution for Aaron Ramsdale.
“Although there have been replacements like Justin Bijlow linked with the Gunners by some sources, my understanding is that no decision has been made on this yet.
“Ramsdale is expected to leave for sure, but there’s nothing advanced with any club yet, so it’s not clear yet how much Arsenal will get for him. Before having a replacement lined up to serve as the backup to David Raya, they want to make sure that they find the best solution possible for Ramsdale.”
