Andy Reid may have been able to laugh off his viral interaction with Travis Kelce during Super Bowl LVIII, but Jason Kelce wasn’t going to let his brother off the hook so easily.

“You crossed the line. I think we can both agree on that,” Jason Kelce said on their New Heights podcast, presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment. “Let’s be honest, the yelling in his face, too, was over the top. I think there were better ways to handle this, retrospectively.”

After an Isiah Pacheco fumble in the first half, Travis Kelce was seen screaming in Reid’s face and bumped the Chiefs coach off balance. The moment was not only the most memeable one from the Chiefs’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers but also led to some criticism of Travis Kelce, who has seen his spotlight brighten amid his relationship with Taylor Swift.

Travis agreed with Jason’s assessment, saying his actions were “definitely unacceptable.”

“I can’t get that fired up to the point where I’m bumping Coach and it’s getting him off balance and stuff. When he stumbled I was just like, ‘Oh s–t,’ in my head,” the Chiefs tight end said.

Travis went on to heap praise upon Reid, calling himself a “product” of the coach and saying he would retire if Reid walked away from the game now. He also said he would not have blamed Reid if there would have been some physical retaliation.

“If he would have cold-cocked me in the face right there, I would have just ate it. I would have been like: ‘Let’s f–king go,'” Kelce said.

Reid was able to joke about the incident after the game, telling reporters the interaction looked worse on television than it was in real time.

“He caught me off balance,” Reid said. “I wasn’t watching. He was really coming over [and saying], ‘Just put me in, I’ll score. I’ll score.’ So, that’s really what it was. I love that. It’s not the first time. I appreciate him.”

All’s well that ends well, but one has to wonder if the reaction would have been the same if the Chiefs hadn’t come back and defeated the 49ers.
