Chiefs vs Buccaneers MNF Game Recap

Monday night means Monday Night Football, and last night was a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Chiefs started the night off with a field goal with two minutes left in the first quarter to take a 3-0 lead. The Buccaneers answer back early in the second quarter with a Rachaad White touchdown, to take a 7-3 lead. This lead didn’t last long though as DeAndre Hopkins comes alive in the first half, and catches a touchdown pass to go along with 66 yards to take a 10-7 lead into halftime.

The second half starts with a bang as the Buccaneers score a touchdown within the first three minutes of the second half, giving them a 14-10 lead. The third quarter was a great quarter for Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton, as he scored a touchdown and also put the Bucs in field goal range to take a 17-10 lead. The Chiefs however, did answer back with a touchdown of their own to tie the game at 17. This also so happen to be the play quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a scary looking non-contact injury, but he would ultimately come back into the game. Mahomes continued to do Mahomes things has he hit DeAndre Hopkins for his second touchdown to give the Chiefs a 24-17 lead late in the fourth. The Bucs had one more drive in them though, as Baker Mayfield hits Ryan Miller for a late touchdown to tie the game with 30 seconds left and send it to overtime. The Chiefs won the coin toss and drive the ball right down the field for a touchdown to win the game 30-24 and move to 8-0 on the season.

This was an electric game, with each team making big plays to try and win. Patrick Mahomes looked like he suffered a bad injury late in the game, but he shook it off and lead two touchdown drives after that scare. Tampa Bay battled in this game, being without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, I thought Baker Mayfield played a good game. The Chiefs are just always going to find a way to win, because that’s just what great teams do.
