Evert reached a new life milestone when her son Nicholas Mill and his wife, Rebecca, welcomed their baby boy, Hayden James, in May 2024. The American star shares three sons, Alexander, Nicholas, and Colton, with her ex-husband, Olympic downhill skier Andy Mill. Nicholas, born in 1994, has carved out a distinct career path from his Hall of Fame mother, co-hosting a podcast titled Mill House with his father.

Recently, Evert took to Instagram to share an adorable picture of her embracing her grandson Hayden. She captioned the post, “This is how I’m spending most of my fall ❀❀”

When Evert Shared Her Thoughts on Life’s New Chapter as a Grandmother
In an interview with BNPParibas.com earlier this year, Evert opened up about the happiness of seeing her family grow and the special experience of becoming a grandmother. She spoke tenderly of her daughter-in-law, Rebecca, referring to her as “the daughter she never had.”

“My daughter in law is the daughter that I always wanted,” Evert said. “I mean, she’s perfect. My grandchild Hayden is, wow, again, I never everyone kept saying, ‘Wait until you have a grandchild.’ I thought nothing can top having a child.”

Evert said that becoming a grandparent brings twice the joy and expressed how thrilled she is to play an active role in her grandson’s life.

“But having a grandchild is double the fun, because you’re also seeing your son being a father. Your child has become a father. Then I have this little grandson. It’s wonderful. I will be, for sure, a fun grandmother. I will right around as long as I can,” she added.

When asked what her grandson might call her, Evert admitted that the family has not settled on a name yet. She said she would prefer to let Hayden choose it himself as he grows older. The 70-year-old explained that there are plenty of affectionate options, such as Nana, Gammy, or Grandma, but she wants the name to come naturally from him rather than being decided in advance.
