Since its debut in 2022, the circuit layout around Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, has remained unchanged. However, Red Bull‘s team principal has suggested that instead of racing around the stadium, Formula 1 should change the layout so that the cars go through the stadium.

Christian Horner believes that driving through the stadium would add an extra level of excitement and create a unique experience for both drivers and fans attending the race. “Miami is such a special place to race,” said Horner as quoted by formel1.de. “It’s not the best race track in the world, but it’s a fantastic event. There is already a track on the F1 calendar where the drivers go through the stadium section rather than around it. It happens during the Mexican Grand Prix when the drivers navigate through the Foro Sol, which is a baseball stadium packed with grandstands on all sides. However, it might not be possible for the organizers to grant Horner’s wish this year.

The Hard Rock Stadium has served as the Formula 1 paddock since last year as the teams set up their hospitality areas on the stadium grounds. If Formula 1 were to race inside the stadium, the teams would need to relocate their facilities, which might not be possible for the upcoming event in 4 days.

While fans probably won’t get to see the driver go through the stadium section in Miami next weekend, there is something else waiting for them with a touch of blue.

The blue color will also pay tribute to legendary Ferrari drivers like Alberto Ascari, John Surtees, Niki Lauda, and Clay Regazzoni, who used this color on their jerseys and helmets.
