Christina Applegate is revealing the toughest moments of her multiple sclerosis (MS) journey.
The “Dead to Me” star, 52, got candid about the “intense” leg pain she experienced during her MS relapse, admitting she wasn’t able to walk or shower on Tuesday’s episode of her and Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s “MeSsy” podcast, which was recorded “months ago.”
“My legs have never been this bad so I don’t know what’s going on,” the actress explained. “Like, no energy. Legs are just done. I can’t get circulation. I can’t get them to stop hurting.”

At the time of the podcast taping, Applegate recalled being unable to “walk to the bathroom without feeling” like she would fall, describing the sensation of “insane tingling” that came from her “butt down.”
The “Bad Moms” star — who revealed she was battling MS in 2021 — furthered she also couldn’t manage taking an actual shower, joking she should buy stock in Cottonelle flushable wipes for keeping her clean.
“I haven’t taken a shower in three weeks because I can’t stand in my shower. There is no f–king way I can stand in my shower,” she added.

Applegate quipped she’s even gotten her 13-year-old daughter, Sadie, to sniff her armpits “just to make her vomit.”

The actress also claimed she was unable to sleep as her symptoms began to impact her eyes.
“I haven’t slept for 24 hours because my eye is doing something weird where every time I close my eye to go to sleep my right eye starts to shift like this,” she continued, adding she was “concerned” because she hadn’t received a response from her doctor about her symptoms.

A rep for the “Bad Moms” star told People that the actress’ recent podcast episode was taped “months ago” and Applegate passed the relapse phase.
However, it’s unclear if the actress recorded the podcast before or after she was seen walking with a cane at the 2024 Emmys in January.
Since revealing her diagnosis, Applegate has been open about her struggles with the disease, referring to it as the “worst thing that’s happened” in her “entire life.”

“I have 30 lesions on my brain,” she said during Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast in March. “My biggest one is behind my right eye, so my right eye hurts a lot.”
The “Married … With Children” alum continued, “My hand starts to go weird and then I’ll get a seizure-y feeling sometimes in my brain.”
Earlier that month, Applegate also admitted to wearing diapers as the autoimmune disease can make you “pee … in your pants.’
