Two classic anime series are making the leap to vinyl outside of Japan for the first time with the upcoming releases of the Dragon Ball Z and Saint Seiya soundtracks. Microids Records is putting both out on February 14, 2024, and they’re currently available for pre-order.
Dragon Ball Z Best Collection includes the work of composers Chiyo Kiyooka, Takeshi Ike and Keiju Ishikawa, spread across two Halloween Orange-colored LPs. There are 15 tracks in total, including the iconic “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA” opening theme song for Dragon Ball Z.
Saint Seiya Music Collection Vol. 1 takes the music from the anime adaptation of Masami Kurumada’s legendary manga and puts some of its most iconic tracks on a single Cosmic Blue-colored LP. Here’s a look at the release, which celebrates the compositions of Seiji Yokoyama.
Microids Records specializes in music from games, anime and films, and there are a bunch of other releases like these available now, including selections from series like Naruto, Hajime no Ippo and No Game No Life, as well as anime films like the One Piece movies and more.
