Coco Gauff vs. Lois Boisson live tennis score, results, highlights from 2025 French Open women’s semifinals

The 2025 French OpenĀ is winding down as the tournament draw has reached the finals. Aryna Sabalenka defeated Iga Swiatek and all that remained was determining her opponent.Ā

Coco Gauff, who drew the No. 2 seed for the women’s singles field, was set to take on Lois Boisson. If you hadn’t heard of her opponent before this tournament, you aren’t alone. Boisson was unseeded, yet rallied against two top competitors to make it to her first career major semifinal.

Boisson is from France and, a year ago, had a torn ACL, keeping her out of competition. The fact that she made it all the way to this stage was inspiring, but it was a bad time to run into Gauff, who played her best major of the entire tournament so far.Ā

Gauff started the match by breaking Boisson and that set the tone. She would win the first set 6-1, and then maintain that momentum through the second set, winning 6-2. All told, Gauff wrapped up this semifinal match in an hour and eight minutes.Ā

The story of the match was unforced errors. Gauff had her average with 15. Unfortunately for Boisson, her Cinderella story ended, and she had 33 unforced errors. She may have been dealing with an injury down the stretch, or she just got worn down by how much Gauff was moving her around and dragging out rallies. She showed glimpses of what helped her get to this point in the tournament, but largely, this match was all Gauff since the first game.Ā

Gauff will go on to take on Sabalenka in the finals on Saturday. It will be her second career finals at the French Open, and she may have a better chance as she doesn’t have to face Swiatek, who not only beat her in the finals in 2022 but also in last year’s semifinals.Ā
