Georgia would have been favored at home against Tennessee regardless of what happened last week, but it is startling to see the Bulldogs as a 9.5-point favorite for Week 12’s marquee game.

The current spread suggests that Nico Iamaleava’s injury is somewhat serious because Tennessee would likely be close to a touchdown underdog if the freshman was fully healthy.

Iamaleava suffered an injury on Saturday night, and while the specifics are not out yet on it, he did leave the game.

Any bet on the Tennessee-Georgia game should be made with that in mind. The Vols may not have their starting quarterback, or he will be significantly hampered.

For what it’s worth, the Bulldogs have three double-digit wins in Athens this season. They have two more double-digit victories over the Clemson Tigers on a neutral field and in Austin over the Texas Longhorns.

Carson Beck needs to clean up his game for Georgia to win, regardless of what the spread ends up at. He only had 186 passing yards and an interception in the loss to Ole Miss.

Tennessee hasn’t travelled particularly well in 2024. It suffered its only loss away from home against the Arkansas Razorbacks and it struggled the week prior in a 10-point win over the Oklahoma Sooners.

Even with a healthy Iamaleava, winning on the road may be difficult for the young quarterback as the Vols try to lock up a spot in the SEC Championship Game.

The Missouri Tigers have certainly underachieved in 2024, but there’s no reason for them to be a 13-point underdog on the road at the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The 24th-ranked Tigers were not competitive with Alabama and Texas A&M, but those two teams are in a different tier of the SEC than South Carolina.

Mizzou is undervalued on the point spread because quarterback Brady Cook missed the last two games with an injury, but Drew Pyne played well in relief in the Week 11 win over Oklahoma.

Pyne is more comfortable inside the Mizzou offense and he should be able to lead the Tigers on a few scoring drives on Saturday night. After all, he still has the dynamic wide receiver duo of Theo Wease and Luther Burden to work with.

If Cook plays, the spread should drop a point or two in favor of Mizzou.

South Carolina is having a great season, and while its defense has held four opponents to single-digit point totals, it allowed at least 20 points to all four of its ranked foes.

Another high concession could be in the cards against Mizzou, which is why you should be tentative to side with the favorite.
