University of Colorado defensive back Shilo Sanders is the son of Colorado head coach and Pro Football Hall of Fame corner Deion Sanders, but he made waves this week by portraying a younger version of his father in the world of acting.

According to Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today, Shilo played the role of Deion in the season finale of the Starz crime drama BMF, which aired Friday night.

Deion showed his approval in an Instagram post, lauding Shilo for his performance and for taking advantage of a big opportunity:

“BMF Season 3 Episode 10 guess who’s playing a Young PRIME! I’m so proud of Shilo Sanders he did the Doggone THANG! Good Lawd the SANDERS boys are exercising all the gifts that GOD gave them and having fun living this life that we only get 1 shot at. Live kids Live.”

Deion is widely regarded as one of the greatest corners in NFL history, but he is also quickly making a name for himself in the coaching profession.

He quickly turned things around during his three-year tenure at Jackson State before taking the Colorado job. After winning just one game in 2022, the Buffaloes went 4-8 under Coach Prime last season.

Deion brought in an influx of talent to Boulder last year, including two of his sons in Shilo and quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

After previously playing at South Carolina and Jackson State, Shilo had his best season in 2023 with 67 tackles, four forced fumbles and one interception.

Also, Shilo has the 18th-highest name, image and likeness (NIL) value of any college athlete at $1.1 million, per On3, and that value is likely to increase even more following his foray into Hollywood acting.
