Commanders vs. Eagles live score, updates, highlights from NFL ‘Thursday Night Football’ game
The two top teams in the NFC East are set to face off for the first time this season.
As the Cowboys’ season plummets, the Eagles (7-2) and Commanders (7-3) appear to be in a two-way race to win the division crown in 2024. Heading into Week 11, both are among the NFC’s elite squads, and they’ll meet in a prime-time matchup on “Thursday Night Football.”
The Eagles come into Thursday’s game on fire, riding a five-game winning streak after some early-season adversity. Philadelphia entered its Week 5 bye with head coach Nick Sirianni’s hot seat seemingly getting hotter, as his team blew a late lead to Atlanta in Week 2, scraped by New Orleans in Week 3, then struggled in a 33-16 loss to Tampa Bay in Week 4.
But with Jalen Hurts (12 passing TDs, 10 rushing TDs) playing some of the best football of his career of late and Saquon Barkley (991 rushing yards, eight total TDs) looking rejuvenated in a new uniform, the Eagles turned their season around and are trending toward another playoff spot, which would mark their seventh trip to the postseason in the last eight years.
On the other side, the Commanders are exceeding all expectations for 2024. Former Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels’ game has translated seamlessly to the NFL, and through Week 10, he’s totaled 2,147 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions through the air with 464 yards and four scores on the ground. With a budding star at quarterback, head coach Dan Quinn’s offense has become one of the league’s best, currently tied for third in the NFL in points per game (29.0).
Washington even went all-in at the trade deadline, adding former Saints star cornerback Marshon Lattimore — though he remains out this week with a hamstring injury. Despite a one-point loss to the Steelers last week, the Commanders appear well-positioned to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2020.
The NFC East title, though, seems set to come down to the wire, and Thursday’s matchup could be crucial to deciding which team, Philadelphia or Washington, will take the crown.
