A corpse has been found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to pop star d4vd. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the incident. As budding pop sensation d4vd performs on his Withered World Tour—and hot on the heels of his mega-collaboration with Fortnite creator Epic Games—he could be involved in a gruesome investigation. A decomposing corpse has been discovered inside the trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer-songwriter.
The Los Angeles Police Department, which is currently investigating the incident, says the car bears Texas plates and has been impounded for several days.
Police were alerted to the vehicle when they received a call about a foul odor coming from inside. When authorities opened the trunk, they discovered a human body inside a bag. No further information has been made public, and d4vd has yet to comment on the matter.
The star is currently performing his Withered World Tour, with a show set for tonight in Minneapolis. The tour will take him to Los Angeles on September 20 before he heads to the UK and Europe in October. His tour wraps up in Melbourne on December 10.Withered is d4vd’s debut studio album, released earlier this year via Darkroom and Interscope. The project features work with several big-name producers, including Tyler Spry, Ryan Tedder, and Harry Charles. It also features a collaboration with Kali Uchis on “Crashing.” A deluxe version of the album is due for release later this month.
Last week, Fortnite publisher Epic Games released its first-ever official anthem for the game, d4vd’s “Locked & Loaded,” ahead of its Global Championship tournament.
The artist, who got his start making Fortnite montages on his YouTube channel, said he began making music as a way to avoid copyright violations. He added that, as Fortnite had given him “the space to be creative and connect with people all over the world,” he considered working with Epic Games as “a true full-circle moment.”
