‘Couchella’ Gets Even Better: YouTube Adds Multiview Feature to Upcoming Coachella Livestream

For the first time for a music festival livestream, YouTube will offer a multiview feature for its Coachella 2024 livestream, enabling viewers to stream up to four performances on-screen at a time in a 4×4 grid.Coachella’s had a rough time selling out tickets this year, and now there’s even less reason to attend in person — YouTube has announced a multiview feature for its official Coachella 2024 livestream. No more will fans have to worry about scheduling conflicts when deciding which artists to see, as viewers can now stream up to four performances on a single screen in a convenient 4×4 grid.

Just as last year’s Coachella livestream on YouTube, there will be six feeds of performances to choose from. This year, via the YouTube app, fans can stream two different performances from two different stages throughout the entire festival. The video giant has offered multiview streaming before as part of its NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV, but this is the first time such functionality will be available for a music festival livestream.

In a “first-of-its-kind” livestream concert experience, YouTube is offering exclusive merch from headliners Tyler, the Creator and Doja Cat, as well as Ice Spice, J. Balvin, LE SSERAFIM, Justice, and Sabrina Carpenter. Between sets, YouTube will offer special editorial content and more via YouTube Music. There will be plenty of behind-the-scenes content on YouTube Shorts, as well as interviews, photos, and much more.YouTube’s livestream kicks off on Friday, April 12, at 4PM PT, the first day of Coachella Weekend One. Livestreams from each day will be repeated after the night’s final set until the next day’s sets, so fans never have to miss a beat. Performance highlights will also be posted to the official Coachella YouTube channel for viewing on-demand.

And if all that convenience deters you and you’d still rather attend Coachella in person, tickets for both weekends are still available.
