Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Criticized by NFL Fans for 2 INTs in Loss to Brock Purdy, 49ers

As the Dallas Cowboys fell to the San Francisco 49ers by the score of 30-24 on Sunday night, fans criticized quarterback Dak Prescott for a pair of interceptions.

Prescott threw an equal number of touchdowns and interceptions—two of each—and the Cowboys fell to 3-4 on the season, extending their losing streak to two, while the 49ers improved to 4-4.

Prescott completed 25 of 38 passes for 243 yards. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had an impressive night with 13 receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns in the team’s loss.

On the other side, Brock Purdy completed 18 of 26 passes for 260 yards and one touchdown. He also added 56 rushing yards and scored one rushing touchdown.

After scoring just one touchdown in the first half, the injury-riddled 49ers crawled back in the second half to take a 27-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

A late-game touchdown brought the Cowboys back within six points with just less than four minutes in regulation, but the effort was not enough to grab the win.

Prescott and the Cowboys have been under scrutiny all season, a situation heightened by a blowout 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 6.

Following the blowout loss at home, Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones said that the loss was “very concerning” and “very humbling,” according to The Athletics’ Jon Machota.

In their first chance to try to redeem themselves after the loss to the LIons, the Cowboys instead found themselves on the wrong end of the scoreboard, with the 31-year-old Prescott receiving blame from fans.

Next Sunday, the Cowboys will aim to seek redemption as they face the 5-3 Atlanta Falcons on the road.
