Cowboys QB Dak Prescott suffers hamstring injury in loss to Falcons, will undergo MRI on Monday Nov 03, 2024

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of Dallas’ 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Prescott left the game at the end of the third quarter, with his final play an incomplete pass on third down. Cooper Rush replaced Prescott for the final frame, going 13-of-25 passing for 115 yards with one TD.

Prescott, who also was seen favoring his right hand upon exiting, was 18 for 24 for 133 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game.

“I gotta get it looked at,” Prescott said of his hamstring, per ESPN. “Didn’t think much of it. Then the next play, I felt a pull. That’s something I never felt. It was tough to walk on it at that point. I asked if I could make it worse. The (medical staff) said I wouldn’t be able to protect myself. I wanted to get out there and compete. I wanted to get out there and fight.”

Sunday’s loss dropped the Cowboys to 3-5 on the season. Dallas hosts the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10.

Prescott told reporters that he will undergo an MRI exam on Monday to assess the full extent of the injury.

“It’ll take a lot for me not to be out there,” Prescott said, per ESPN, of next Sunday’s date against the rival Eagles.
