Dallas Goedert injury: Eagles tight end might miss Chiefs game
Death, taxes, and Dallas Goedert dealing with injury issues. The three certainties in life.
The Philadelphia Eagles tight end reportedly suffered a knee sprain during the teamâs Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys, according to a report from SportsRadio 94WIPâs Eliot Shorr-Parks.
Hereâs what ESP had to say on the WIP Afternoon Show with Spike Eskin, Ike Reese, and Jack Fritz:
âHis status for the game on Sunday against the Chiefs is up in the air. [âŠ] The good news is itâs not a long-term injury. I think thereâs still a shot he plays against Kansas City.â
Sounds like Goedert isnât in jeopardy of being placed on injured reserve, which is indeed good news for the Eagles.
But Goedert either missing Sundayâs game against Kansas City or being hampered while playing just isnât ideal.
If Goedert canât suit up, the Eagles only have two tight ends on the roster behind him: Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson. Calcaterra has pass-catching talent but heâs been a liability as a blocker. Granson had to battle to earn a roster spot as the third tight end. The Eagles could look to temporarily elevate either E.J. Jenkins or Cameron Latu from the practice squad to have more TE depth.
Goedertâs progress in practice this week will certainly be worth monitoring. Weâll keep you updated with the daily injury reports here at Bleeding Green Nation.
