Win, lose or draw, fans know they’re in for a treat whenever ‘The Hangman’ takes to the cage. And now, the warrior is on the cusp of huge collisions.

At UFC 305 on August 17 in front of a packed house at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, the Kiwi produced one of the best performances of his career, defeating Mateusz Gamrot, in an absolute barnburner.

The victory has propelled Hooker up the rankings, with the 34-year-old currently sitting at five in the lightweight rankings.

With this considered, a title fight isn’t a million miles away, and neither is a major clash with Conor McGregor.

In an interview with Main Event TV, Hooker said: “That’s obviously because of the [Michael] Chandler situation, not a fight I would sit around and wait for. Obviously, my eyes are on the title, and I know I have a big fight coming up next.

“But I am actually heading over to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in Spain next week, which Conor McGregor just so happens to own.

“So, by the end of next week, hopefully get a chance to just have a word with him and see if he’s interested in a fight.”

Why does Conor McGregor gas out in major UFC fightsWhile Hooker understandably would love the opportunity to go toe-to-toe with McGregor, getting the Dubliner in the cage may prove tough.

Regardless, if the fight were to happen, the Auckland native would likely try and take ‘The Notorious’ into the trenches.

While McGregor is extremely dangerous in the early portion of his bouts, he tends to tire as the rounds roll on.
