Dana White provides an update on the UFC fight ‘nobody will see coming’ in 2025

In 2024, the UFC experienced their most successful year to date, breaking their own records on several occasions and leveling up the already powerful promotion.

In its 32-year existence, the UFC has quickly become the biggest combat sports promotion in the world but that didn’t come without its early adversity.

CEO, Dana White has been consistently lauded for his role in growing the business along with sport and in 2024, the promotion broke several of its own records with more historical events.

The historical UFC 306 event from the Las Vegas Sphere broke several records this past September, becoming the highest-grossing UFC event ever.

In typical White fashion, the UFC boss excited fans by stating that every year he is asked the same question and always exceeds expectations the following year.

And with that, White also claimed that he is working on a ‘crazy’ fight that ‘nobody will see coming’ for 2025, which led to fans speculating what fight the boss could be talking about.

Soon after White made that revelation, UFC star, Conor McGregor announced he was in talks with Logan Paul for a potential boxing fight in India, which resulted in fans believing that could be the fight White was talking about.

Despite that, the 55-year-old has now provided an update on the fight ‘nobody will see coming’, putting McGregor rumors to bed.

“No (McGregor will not fight Logan Paul). No, no, no,” White told Pardon My Take.

“What I was talking about in December, yeah, I can imagine it’s probably gonna happen and it’s gonna happen in the fall, a fight that I’m working on (and you’ll never see it coming),” he teased.

Although the UFC mogul shut down claims of McGregor vs Paul or even McGregor vs KSI, he did admit that he expects the Irishman to return to the Octagon this fall, too.

Fans begin to speculate which fight Dana White could be talking aboutWhite’s comments have once again led to fans speculating which fight he could potentially be talking about, with some fans putting two and two together and claiming he is talking about a McGregor fight.

“It’s Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz 3 bookmark this,” one fan commented.

McGregor and Nate Diaz shared one of the biggest rivalries in combat sport’s history, first meeting back in 2016 when the Stockton brawler scored one of the biggest upset wins ever, submitting McGregor in round two.

They then rematched just over four months later and the Irishman exacted revenge with a close majority decision win, putting their rivalry at 1-1. Ever since, fans have called for the trilogy fight but Diaz exited the promotion back in 2022 but there have been continuous teases at his return.

“My guess is Conor vs (Jorge) Masvidal,” another fan speculated.

I wonder if it’s some cross over fight with a boxer because there’s not too many fights within the UFC that “nobody will see coming” and that’s big enough for him to talk this much about it.

“I wonder if Tyson Fury will be making his UFC debut,” another fan questioned. Tyson Fury recently announced his retirement from boxing and throughout his career, he has teased at a potential fight in the Octagon.

With the promotion consistently putting together incredible fights, fans will have to wait and see what the promotion is cooking up for a big 2025.
