You’ll be able to reunite with a band of dwarves very soon in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor again, and if you don’t have anything planned for Valentine’s this year, then don’t worry because the early access for the game will be releasing on the very same day. That’s right, so party up with your friends/partner or go full solo to enjoy the roguelike experience starting from February 14th.
It’s not currently known when the game will fully release, but the devs have mentioned that they intend to keep the game in early access for 6-12 months, depending on player’s feedback and development process.
Now you might be asking, what exactly is the experience that Survivor will give you? Well, to answer that, we’ll be looking at the core gameplay elements of the game, along with everything included in the early access.
The Gameplay

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is based off of the 2022 game, Vampire Survivors. It’s a roguelike shooter game where the shooting is done constantly and automatically, with the players only being able to control the characters’ movement and upgrade choices. This gives the game an unique dynamic which means it’s endless chaos and fun, and it usually doesn’t require much strategy or critical thinking, adding to the ease of playability of the game.
Hordes of monsters will approach the players, which must be defeated in order to get strong and accumulate more experience and get upgrades throughout the game. A currency system is also present which will allow players to add permanent upgrades for each character, incentivising everyone to keep playing the game. The only caveat being that you can only buy these upgrades in-between the matches.
Undoubtedly, the game is most enjoyed when you’re playing with friends, with its colorful tone in everything and constant action-packed gameplay keeping everyone in your party on their toes. So get ready to destroy endless streams of enemies, bugs, and monsters alike as you travel numerous planets and levels to mine ore, stones and many more in order to bring them back to your base for upgrades.
