Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White gave fans a double helping of footage at D23, with a taste of the classic song Whistle While You Work and a teaser trailer featuring the infamous apple. Snow White herself, Rachel Zegler, promised the movie will add “so many” new songs to the poisonous fruit playlist.

Gal Gadot, who plays the evil queen and crone cosplayer, showed some love for her new role, saying “she’s delicious. She’s evil. She’s magical. We got to sing all these different songs. It was incredible.”

— IGN (@IGN) August 10, 2024 The first chunk of footage was a cleaning montage, with the dwarves and a contingent of woodland creatures doing some odd jobs around the house. Cleaning, a woodpecker who apparently moonlights and a hammer, and Dopey cutting some shapes showed that Disney is going heavy on the charm for the remake.

The teaser trailer was a little less carefree, with the evil queen doing some self-care in front of her magic mirror, transforming into a crone, and Snow White about to learn a terrible lesson about accepting edible gifts from strangers.

This new take on Snow White is set for release on March 21, 2025 after a delay. The filming wasn’t without its own setbacks either after a dramatic fire on the set. The Amazing Spider-Man’s Marc Webb is the director, with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul penning the new music for the film.
