Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman shares ‘great mental picture’ of brutal shower injury
Freddie Freeman was happy to share with reporters how a Major League Baseball player winds up injured in his home shower.
Freeman has missed the Dodgers’ last two games after the injury, and he spoke with the media late Tuesday night.
âHalfway through my (Sunday) morning coffee, I was like, âOh, Iâll just shower to get ready for the day,ââ Freeman said. âAnd next thing you know, Iâm down in the bathtub. Itâs a great mental picture, if you guys want to think about it, big guy falling all over the place⊠Freak accident, you canât really make it up, crazy.”
X-rays on Freeman’s surgically repaired ankle did come back negative.
âIt was just one of those things,” Freeman said. “You slip in bathtub showers all the time. And when youâre healthy, you just catch yourself. And when youâre not, when youâve got a little surgically repaired ankle, mostly I think it just flared everything kind of back up. I was a little sore. Sore on the inside still. But Iâm feeling much better.â

And it could’ve ended in an even tougher outcome for the Dodgers, Freeman said.
âI literally stepped in with my right foot and it slipped. And I went down,â Freeman said. âItâs a glass door, so it could have been so much worse. I could have hit my head or something like that. So Iâm very thankful that it was just a little mishap with my ankle.â
Apparently, Freddie needs some grippy shower shoes.
The Dodgers aren’t feeling too bad, as they’re off to a 7-0 start even with Freeman missing the last couple games.
