Golden State Warriors veteran forward Draymond Green was encouraged by the team’s form Thursday following a 128-110 home win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Speaking to NBC Sports Bay Area after the game, Green gave credit to some of the Dubs’ young players and expressed his belief that the team has “unlimited potential” moving forward:

With the win, Golden State improved to 28-26 on the season, and it has now won seven of its past eight games and nine of its past 11.

As is usually the case, MVP candidate Stephen Curry led the way for the Warriors on Thursday, leading all scorers with 32 points to go along with eight assists and three steals.

Green added eight points, seven rebounds and five assists, while the other member of Golden State’s championship core, Klay Thompson, continued his struggles this season.

Coming off the bench, Thompson finished with a mere three points on 1-of-9 shooting in 28 minutes.

Golden State was able to overcome Thompson’s poor performance thanks largely to contributions from some of the younger, less-heralded players on the roster.

Rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis was excellent in 15 minutes off the bench, contributing 17 points and five rebounds, while Jonathan Kuminga had 12 points, three boards and three assists, and Brandin Podziemski came through with 10 points and nine rebounds.

With the win, the Warriors moved to within a half-game of the Lakers for ninth place in the Western Conference, although it should be noted that L.A. was playing short-handed on Thursday.

LeBron James sat out the game with an ankle injury, leaving Anthony Davis to lead the way with 27 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers.

The game may have looked significantly different with James in the lineup, but it was an impressive win for the Warriors nonetheless, and they seem to be peaking at the right time with just 28 regular-season games remaining on their schedule.
