Eagles activate practice windows for Sydney Brown and Ainias Smith

The Eagles should be fresh coming off a bye week, and they’re starting this new week with a bit of good news. The team announced they are opening the practice windows for both safety Sydney Brown and rookie wide receiver Ainias Smith.

Brown started the 2024 NFL season on the Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP) as he worked his way back from tearing his ACL back in January. The second-year player has the potential to be a big contributor when he gets back on the field. He absolutely flies to the ball, and was a playmaker more than once last year. It’ll be interesting to see how much the coaching staff trusts him after he missed the entire offseason.

Smith suffered an ankle injury during training camp, and after an MRI revealed he would be sidelined for four to six weeks, the Eagles placed the rookie on IR – designated to return. He had a bit of an uneven offseason, but beggars can’t be choosers, and the team has had enough injuries to the WR position these past few weeks to appreciate Smith’s return.

With the practice window open for each, they’ve now got 21 days to get Brown and Smith back on the field and elevated to the active roster.
