Eagles are too much for Ravens, win eighth straight game
Despite falling behind 9-0 to the Baltimore Ravens, the Philadelphia Eagles were too much for Baltimore on Sunday, winning 24-19.
The Eagles found their rhythm in the second quarter when QB Jalen Hurts found TE Dallas Goedert for a 17-yard TD. Philadelphia took the lead on a one-yard TD run from Hurts, 14-9, just before halftime.
A major focal point coming into the game was the top two running backs in the NFL squaring off.Â
For Eagles RB Saquon Barkley, it was much of the same. Barkley had 23 carries for 107 yards and a TD. Barkley continues to strengthen his MVP case with five TDs in his last three games and 13 total TDs this season.Â
Derrick Henry, who entered the game behind Barkley with the second-most rush yards this season, was held to 82 rush yards and no TDs.Â
The Eagles have now won eight straight games, largely due to a league-best run game. With 193.4 rush yards per game, the Eagles lead the NFL by a considerable margin.Â
Aside from Baltimore (180.2), no other team has more than 154.4 rush yards per game (Detroit Lions). Philadelphia also leads the NFL in yards allowed (274.6).
While the Eagles still have to face in-state rival Pittsburgh (9-3) and go on the road to take on the Washington Commanders (8-5), the remaining schedule for Philadelphia looks manageable.
It is going to be hard to stop Philadelphia going forward if the Eagles continue to run the ball effectively and play defense at a high level.
