Amid their ongoing struggles down the stretch, the Philadelphia Eagles had a unique team-bonding exercise recently.
Appearing on SportsRadio 94WIP, Eagles right tackle Jordan Mailata said A.J. Brown organized a team outing to an escape room.
“We had a whole team, escape room thing just to build camaraderie… That was A.J.,” Mailata explained. “All this talk about A.J. not being leader…you guys don’t know him like we do. He’s a great leader.”
Brown is known to get animated on the sideline if he’s unhappy about something. He was seen appearing to yell at Jalen Hurts after an interception in the second quarter of Philadelphia’s 21-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 20.
The vibes around the Eagles have been trending in the wrong direction for several weeks now. Matt Patricia replaced Sean Desai as the defensive play-caller prior to a 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 18.
Per The Ringer’s Sheil Kapadia, the Eagles had the third-worst defensive performance based on success rate by any team this season in Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals scored a season-high 35 points and had touchdowns on all four offensive possessions in the second half.
Since starting the season 10-1, the Eagles have lost four of their last five games. They need to defeat the New York Giants and a Dallas Cowboys loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 18 to win the NFC East.
