Eagles Rookie Report Card: Cooper DeJean makes big plays in Bengals game
The Eagles played their best, most complete game of the season after a road win in Cincinnati. Offense, defense, and special teams came together to deliver a 37-17 smack down of a surging Bengals team to get the Eagles to 5-2. While the Birds only had two rookies making major contributions, they were major.
Quinyon Mitchell: C
Quinyon Mitchell has set the bar so high this season that yesterday’s solid game is sub-par for him. Mitchell had to guard Ja’Marr Chase, who might be the best receiver in the NFL this year, and he had some good snaps and some bad. Notably, Mitchell got flagged for defensive holding on a play where he was holding on for dear life. He gave up a few catches and failed to catch an interception along the sideline but otherwise had a solid game against a potent passing attack.
Cooper DeJean: A
Cooper DeJean has been awesome since starting at slot cornerback for the Eagles and Sunday was no different. Not only was he solid in coverage, he made great tackles all game including one on Chase to get a fourth down stop. The combination of DeJean and Mitchell is really, really exciting for now and the future.
