Eagles rooting guide for Week 6 games

The sixth Sunday of the 2024 NFL regular season is nearly here! Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the Week 6 games.

EAGLES GAME
CLEVELAND BROWNS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: There’s no good reason why the Eagles should lose this game. They’re 9.5-point favorites. This isn’t to suggest they can’t lose; that much can’t be put past them. But it would be pretty pathetic if they did. They need to win and it’d be really nice if they could actually do it in comfortable (as opposed to excruciating) fashion. Go Birds.

NFC EAST
WASHINGTON COMMANDERS at BALTIMORE RAVENS: The Eagles would sure like to see Jayden Daniels falter. They need to make up some ground on the top team in the division. Root for the Ravens.

DETROIT LIONS at DALLAS COWBOYS: The Lions are out for revenge after getting screwed in their loss to the Cowboys last year. It’d be fun to see them stomp Dallas. Root for the Lions.

CINCINNATI BENGALS at NEW YORK GIANTS: The Eagles don’t want to see the Giants get any momentum going. Root for the Bengals.

DRAFT PICK WATCH
HOUSTON TEXANS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: The Eagles own the Texans’ fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Root for the Patriots.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at TENNESSEE TITANS: The Eagles want to see a non-Texans team win the AFC South. Considering that the Colts are already 0-2 in division games, the Titans have better upward mobility. Especially if they beat Indy here. Root for the Titans.

NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at CHICAGO BEARS: If the Eagles end up hunting for a wild card spot, they don’t want the Bears to be ahead of them. Also, would be nice to see Doug Pederson pick up another win. The Eagles have a chance to boost their strength of victory tiebreaker with a win over Jacksonville later this season. Root for the Jaguars.

ARIZONA CARDINALS at GREEN BAY PACKERS: The Packers are the bigger threat in the NFC playoff picture. Root for the Cardinals.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The Bucs are obviously a bigger threat to the Eagles than the Saints are. Especially with Philly losing the head-to-head tiebreaker to Tampa but winning it over New Orleans. Root for the Saints.

ATLANTA FALCONS at CAROLINA PANTHERS: The Falcons are obviously the bigger threat in the NFC playoff picture. Root for the Panthers.

WHAT’S LEFT
PITTSBURGH STEELERS at LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: The Eagles have a chance to boost their strength of victory tiebreaker with a win over Pittsburgh later this season. Root for the Steelers.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at DENVER BRONCOS: Doesn’t matter.

BUFFALO BILLS at NEW YORK JETS: Doesn’t matter.
