Eagles sign veteran cornerback to practice squad
The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced one transaction on Tuesday afternoon:
CB Parry Nickerson was signed to the practice squad.
The Eagles had an open practice squad spot after signing Parris Campbell to the active roster ahead of Week 6.
Nickerson, who turned 30 last week, is returning to Philly after originally signing the Eagles following a successful tryout period in spring practices.
Nickerson never seriously challenged to make the Eaglesā roster but he did have some good moments in training camp, including a pick-six on Tanner McKee during a goal-to-go drill.
Signing Nickerson gives the Eagles an experienced and versatile depth option. Making three starts over 30 career games played, Nickerson has logged snaps at nickel cornerback (main position), outside cornerback, and safety. Heās also played on special teams in the past.
Side note: Parry Nickerson is a pretty good name for a slot corner, isnāt it? Heās parrying away passes (ideally). And Nickersonās the nickel, son.
Each player below is eligible to be temporarily elevated to the active roster up to three times unless otherwise noted.
