WWE is off to an oddly slow start in announcing matches for its Survivor Series: WarGames premium live event on November 30, with only one showdown officially slated to this point.

A few creative directions are suggesting what some matches might be, including a major main event pitting one reunited faction against one that has dominated post-WrestleMania 40.

The Bloodline Goes to War in the Most Appropriate Main Event

Solo Sikoa’s hostile takeover of The Bloodline following WrestleMania 40 and implementation of new members Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and Jacob Fatu was met with opposition by the returning Roman Reigns at SummerSlam in August.

Since then, Reigns has battled the self-proclaimed new Tribal Chief for control of the family, only to find himself often outmatched due to a clear numerical disadvantage.

The return of Jimmy Uso and reunions with Jey Uso and Sami Zayn have evened the odds and set in motion what will be the main event of the upcoming spectacular as the OG Bloodline battles Sikoa’s revamped incarnation inside the unforgiving confines of WarGames.

Plenty of stories are at play, including the trust (or lack thereof) in the babyface team and the potential return of Paul Heyman.

The match has been months in the making and was seemingly tailor-made for WarGames. Everything has built steadily to this moment when the original Bloodline came back together to thwart the challenge of an evil entity intent on taking over and forever altering the legacy of one of wrestling’s most storied families.

The overarching Bloodline saga is four years in and continues to write new chapters. It is epic in its expanse and the number of performers and characters that have risen to stardom.

That is on full display in this expected match, with Zayn, Uso and the entire heel side rising to new levels of recognition due to their involvement.

This would be at home on a WrestleMania card but luckily for WWE fans, they do not have to wait until mid-April to see what happens when the two sides finally settle their differences…or at least try to.

Damian Priest’s Continued Elevation

Damian Priest cashed in his men’s Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania 40 to become the world heavyweight champion.

During his run, he began to develop the confidence and presence needed to be in that position on the card…just in time to drop the title to Gunther at SummerSlam as part of his babyface turn and excommunication from The Judgment Day.

Since then, Priest has exorcised his past demons and refocused his attention on regaining a title he never should have lost, becoming No. 1 contender by defeating Dominik Mysterio, Sheamus and Seth Rollins in a Fatal 4-Way match to earn a shot at The Ring General.

While the match has not yet been officially announced, Survivor Series is the likely home to The Archer of Infamy’s championship opportunity against Gunther.

Priest proved himself as an in-ring competitor in their previous encounter, taking Gunther to the limit and countering his strike-heavy offense with his own hard-hitting, brawl-heavy arsenal. The two styles meshed well and if the match has a chance to unfold without the interference that plagued the first one, it could be a hidden gem on what is likely to be a strong Survivor Series card.

It is yet another step in Priest’s elevation from the silent, bodyguard type as part of The Judgment Day to the charismatic, main event babyface we see today and one that benefits the company as a whole with the introduction of another legitimate star.
