‘Sugar’ travelled to Tajikistan to face Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov, where he picked up his 27th knockout in an IBF super-featherweight title eliminator.

And Hearn, who watched the dust-up on a laptop, was clearly delighted, though his celebrations has seen him take a trip to the hospital after smashing his head on a pot dangling above his head.

In a video shared by Matchroom Boxing CEO Frank Smith on his Instagram story, Hearn could be seen holding a bloodstained towel to his head.

Smith asked him to describe what happened, to which he replied: “So, when Sugar Nunez stopped him, I jumped up to celebrate.

“I headbutted that [points to ceramic pot hanging from the ceiling, which partially broke] and I cut my head open.”

After being given a piece of the broken pot with blood visible on his face, hands and floor, Hearn shouted: “Let’s go Sugar Nunez!”

He then took to social media himself, where he provided his fans with an update on his health.

Hearn stated: “Off to hospital to get stitched after cutting my head open in the celebrations!

“Well done ‘Sugar’ Nunez that was incredible!”

Nunez could now face another member of Hearn’s stable, with Welsh star Joe Cordina the current IBF champion.

Johnny Nelson bites back at Eddie Hearn and doubles down on Tyson Fury sparring claim

With Cordina to defend his belt against Anthony Cacace on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk on May 18, Nunez is in line to fight the winner.

And the Rio 2016 Olympian knows he will be in for a tough night should he face Nunez, who blasted out Rakhimov in the 11th round.

It was Rakhimov who Cordina beat in April 2023 to reclaim the IBF strap, where he won on a split decision.
