Elle King Got Brutally Honest About Her Strained Relationship With Her Dad, Rob Schneider

Elle King Revealed She Doesnā€™t Want To Be ā€œAssociatedā€ With Her Dad, Rob Schneider, Because He Is ā€œNot Niceā€ā€œYou can want someone to change so much. You can’t control anyone else’s actions, you can’t control people’s feelings.ā€

Singer Elle King got brutally honest about her complicated relationship with her famous father.

In case you didnā€™t know, Elle is the child of former model London King and comedian Rob Schneider.

Sheā€™s talked in the past about how she and her dad have been estranged at different points in her life. Now, appearing on this weekā€™s episode of Bunnie Xoā€™s Dumb Blonde podcast, the ā€œExā€™s and Ohā€™sā€ singer didnā€™t hold back in criticizing him while describing their ā€œtoxicā€ dynamic.

When prompted to talk about her dad, Elle said that she and Rob could go ā€œfour or five yearsā€ without speaking. She also said sheā€™s received angry phone calls from him in the past when sheā€™s talked about their relationship publicly.

Talking more about her childhood, the 35-year-old also recalled being body-shamed by her dad and sent to a ā€œfat campā€ to lose weight.

Last month, Rob made headlines for claiming that a portion of the Olympics opening ceremony featuring drag queens disrespected Christianity and ā€œopenlyā€ celebrated Satan by seemingly depicting Leonardo da Vinciā€™s ā€œThe Last Supper.ā€

Referring to this, Elle distanced herself from her father and emphasized that they do not share the same political beliefs.

Earlier this month, Elle weighed in on the ā€œnepo babyā€ debate and said she doesnā€™t feel she benefited from nepotism in her career because she and her dad ā€œwerenā€™t even speakingā€ when she got signed to her music label.

When the topic was discussed again on the Dumb Blonde podcast, Elle doubled down, saying that he ā€œneverā€ helped her and that she didnā€™t want his help either.
