Emily in Paris Season 5 Details: Everything We Know About the Cast, Location, and Premiere Date

If we get an Emily in Paris season five…will that be enough time for this gal to learn French? The fourth season of Netflix’s frothy comedy-drama was released earlier this year, but she’s still nowhere close to fluent.

Okay, but seriously, fans are wondering how long the adventure is meant to last. And now we know for sure: Emily in Paris season five has been confirmed! Here’s everything we know so far.

C’est official! Emily in Paris season five is coming.On September 16, 2024, Netflix officially announced the green light for another swath of episodes.

In a short video, series star Lily Collins revealed that the show would continue its Italian setting in the next season, cheekily teasing, “There’s no place like Rome.”

When is Emily in Paris season five coming out?On April 17, Deadline revealed production for season five will commence in May for a 2025 premiere date.

Will Emily in Paris become Emily in Rome?Deadline reports that filming will begin in Rome before moving to Paris.

“We will definitely see more Emily in Rome if we have a season five,” series creator Darren Star told Glamour in October 2024. “Emily [is now] there. There’s an office, and I think the story is taking us there for the moment. So we will spend more time in Italy, but it doesn’t mean we’re leaving Paris.”

Who in the cast is coming back?There’s no Emily in Paris without Emily, so Lily Collins is for sure coming back.

Surely part of the appeal for her is working with costar turned BFF Ashley Park. “I couldn’t love you more @ashleyparklady. I don’t know what I did to deserve a friendship and sisterhood like yours, but I’ll hold onto it for dear life,” Collins wrote of Park, who plays Emily’s roommate, Mindy, on the show. Park shared the renewal news on her Instagram Stories, pointing to a likely return.

As for Emily’s love interests, Deadline reports that all three of her main suitors will reprise their roles in season five. That includes Lucas Bravo, despite some interviews that cast doubt on Gabriel’s return in October 2024.

“The ‘sexy chef’ was very much part of me in season one and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take,” Bravo told IndieWire at the time.

Referencing creator Darren Star and the show’s writers, he added, “They made him kind of unaware of his surroundings, of the dynamic, always victimizing and always being completely lost in translation and oblivious to anything that is happening around him and being manipulated by everyone. It kind of became not fun for me to shoot or to see a character I love so much and brought me so much being slowly turned into guacamole. I really grew apart from him.”

Well, it looks like Bravo has a chance to find more common ground with Gabriel in season five. Here’s the complete lineup of returning cast members, per Deadline:

Though she’s framed as a sort of romantic and workplace rival to our girl Emily, she’s not really a bad guy.

“I wanted to bring in a character who Emily would, in a way, be a mentor to—Emily 2.0, like a young Emily, but also give her this sort of interesting backstory that was connected to Sylvie and her husband,” Star told Glamour. In the same interview, he teased more Alfie and, stunningly, less Camille. Trés shocking!

Who is not coming back?Well, there we have it. On April 17, Deadline confirmed Camille Razat is not scheduled to return as Camille in season five after her character left town after faking a pregnancy in season four.

Any new characters?There will surely be more to report soon, but we do know Star auctioned off a small role on the fifth season back in May 2024
