As part of IGN Fan Fest 2024, we can exclusively reveal that Orphan Black: Echoes will premiere on AMC, AMC+, and BBC America this June.
You can also see a new clip from Echoes below, featuring star Krysten Ritter as Lucy, a woman who emerges from a strange procedure with no memory of who she is. The clip shows Lucy grappling with that memory loss, as Keeley Hawes’ Dr. Kira Manning tries to console her. Lucy only grows more panicked, however, after she discovers a lab where clones are being made, and Kira reveals the truth of Lucy’s creation to her.
You can also see a new poster for Orphan Black: Echoes below, focusing on Ritter as Lucy emerges from a tank of pink goo as a freshly made clone.
Orphan Black: Echoes is a spinoff of the Tatiana Maslany-starring Orphan Black, which ended its five-season run in 2017. It’s set in the year 2052 and, according to the show’s official synopsis, will follow a group of women as they unravel “the mystery of their identity and uncover a wrenching story of love and betrayal.”
In addition to starring in the series, Ritter serves as executive producer. It also marks a return to AMC for Ritter, having previously appeared in the network’s acclaimed Breaking Bad.
Given the nature of Orphan Black, we wouldn’t be surprised to see her portray several clones in the 10-episode season. Maslany, after all, played 17 different clones over the course of the original show’s 50 episodes, with her versatility standing out as one of the highlights of the series.
