“It’s really a new era”

It sounds like Halo: Campaign Evolved will be just the start of Halo Studios’ plans for bringing the FPS franchise to PS5 — and PlayStation in general — as the developer has said Halo is “on PlayStation going forward”.

Wearing a PlayStation t-shirt while saying it, community director Brian Jarrad made the comment during the Halo World Championship livestream. In full, he said (via Gematsu):

“It’s a huge deal, it’s a long time coming. We’re just super excited to be able to welcome even more players now to the franchise we loved, to fall in love with Halo the same way that we all did 24 years ago here at this point. As a community guy, I know that the Halo community is super excited to welcome in their friends as well — it’s just going to be more Halo for everyone. And it’s really a new era. Halo is on PlayStation going forward, starting with Halo: Campaign Evolved.”

Whether those plans refer to remakes and re-releases of other current Halo titles or completely new ones remains to be seen, but whatever Halo Studios has in the pipeline, it sounds like it’s coming to PS5 as well as Xbox and PC. It’s been almost four years since Halo Infinite released, so the series is definitely due a new entry soon. You’ll be able to play that on PS5, it sounds like.

Jarrad even echoed his sentiment over on the PlayStation Blog, sharing: “Halo: Campaign Evolved is coming in 2026, launching day and date on PlayStation 5. We’ll have more to share in the months ahead, but for now, you can wishlist today. As the Master Chief once said: ‘I think we’re just getting started.'”

Halo on PlayStation begins with Halo: Campaign Evolved in 2026, which remakes the first game’s single player. It’ll have entirely new visuals, extra gameplay features, and a remastered soundtrack and new voice acting. The only thing you don’t get is the multiplayer, though there are three new prequel missions for returning players to get excited about.

Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his hands and a love for Metal Gear Solid. Nowadays, he’s found playing the latest and greatest PS5 games as well as supporting Derby County. That last detail is his downfall.
